The Birthplace of Country Music Museum is located in Historic Downtown Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia. To complement your visit to the museum, there are a variety of independent shops, art galleries, and restaurants worth a visit along nearby State Street and the neighboring side streets – all within easy walking distance of the museum.
Believe in Bristol, our cities’ Main Street organization, acts as a welcome center and is conveniently located beside the museum on Moore Street. They offer brochures and information on downtown attractions and businesses, regional destinations and organizations, and three self-guided downtown walking tours: Bristol history, Art in Public Places (public sculpture), and the Caterpillar Crawl (for families).
In Bristol, with the state line running right through the middle of downtown, you’ll get to enjoy the best of both Tennessee and Virginia!
Bristol is the Birthplace of Country Music, and you can find live music – of all types – almost every night of the week. For a listing of current and upcoming music events and performances, check out pickbristol.com.
